Boston Map Of Attractions, Tours And Neighborhoods

Boston is emphatically not a grid, which is exactly why it is worth seeing drawn. The street plan grew out of a colonial peninsula rather than a survey, the harbor wraps the eastern edge, and the Charles River separates the city from Cambridge in a way no list of names conveys. What the map makes obvious is how tight the historic core is: almost everything on the Freedom Trail sits within a mile of Boston Common. Fenway Park is a couple of miles west on the Green Line. Harvard Square is across the river on the Red Line. This page puts every place on the site in one picture so you can group your days by geography instead of by list order.

The City On One Live Map

Start here if you are still deciding where to stay. The embed below is the ordinary interactive map, useful for judging a hotel against a train line or working out whether two things are genuinely walkable. Boston distances mislead in both directions. The walk from Boston Common to the North End looks longer than it is and takes about twenty minutes. The Harbor Islands look close and are a ferry ride. And Cambridge, which most visitors treat as a Boston neighborhood, is a separate city across the water.

Every Place On This Site, Plotted To Scale

This one is drawn from the site's own data rather than served from a tile provider. Every point is a surveyed coordinate geocoded against OpenStreetMap, plotted at true scale with the coastline, the river, the parks and the street grid underneath it, so the distances you read off it are real. The chips dim the groups you are not looking at instead of removing them, because a map that deletes the parks when you ask about museums is no longer telling you where anything is. Each numbered card opens that place's own page.

Coastline, water, roads and park geometry from OpenStreetMap contributors, used under the Open Database Licence. Place positions are OpenStreetMap's own. A label is nudged clear of its neighbour where two places sit almost on top of each other, and the pin itself never moves.

Filter Every Tour By Duration, Rating And Kind

Every figure in this table comes from the operator's own listing: the rating, the review count, the stated duration and the from-price. The live listing stays the authority on availability, and that is where you book.

Kind of thing to do
What the listing includes

Inclusion labels come from each listing's own title, so they narrow the list rather than promise anything: a tour with no label may still include the thing you care about. Prices are from-prices on the live booking page and shift with date and group size.
